Hey, this sounds just like my life, but instead of 2 kids I had 2 dogs. Divorced at 30, everyone said there was nothing “wrong” with me, yet I was single single single. I’ll cut right to the chase – for me, and perhaps for you too, I was simple immature and was not behaving like a mature adult male. The solution for me was to pick up the ($100! Ugh) book by Doc Love at You can sometimes find his book on eBay, but not very often because most owners (myself included) will never part with it. Pay special attention to the middle section, because this is key: *The main problem with men is not that they dominate, but that they are dominated. All the talk shows, all the articles in the women’s magazines, and all the self help books try, ironically, to empower women when they already have the upper hand. When it comes to the “war between the sexes,” men have BB guns while women have F 16s. Women don’t need Sam missiles; men do.* … *At the apex of the triangle, the* **Reality Factor states that men have a tendency not to face reality when it comes to dealing with Miss Right.** *The Bottom Line Factor says that only her actions truly reflect her feelings and attitude toward you. It can also be VERY helpful to buy a book on body language so you can better understand the signals women are giving you. Self control. That’s a big topic. For me it meant to stop acting like a big kid. No more video games for hours on end every day. No more running around like a dork. No yelling or waving my arms around, being loud and obnoxious, etc. It also meant controlling my bad moods and understanding that self-control means being calm and cool and collected when people are TESTING you (trying to upset you) and instead being thoughtful (thinking!) and polite. It also meant getting a handle on my spend-thrift ways, saving for a house, paying off debt, selling 3 of my 4 cars, cleaning up after myself more often, and so forth. Self control is really a whole lot of “Be mature”. Finally, for me, challenge was important. While I am funny and smart and average looking too, I was BORING. I never took my ex-wife out, I did the same things every day, ate the same foods, drank the same drinks, watched the same TV shows/movies. Worse, when I talked, I only talked about myself and about work and whatever, and that is BORING! So I made a change, and now I try new things, even if they are bad. I avoid talking about myself and instead ask about other people. I try to tease people to make them think and joke back, and so forth. I think for me the most important thing was to tease women more (playfully), to flirt more, and to be more overtly sexual when flirting. I make it clear I am a male and she’s a female and she is SEXY to me. I used to hang with women (and ex’s) as friends, which basically taught me how to be NON-SEXUAL with women, which is bad. You need to hang out with GUYS and ask GUYS for advice, not women! One other thing that helped me INCREDIBLY was the book “No More Mr. Nice Guy” by Dr. Glover. This book nailed me exactly, and was so instrumental in helping me grow up I can’t believe it. I bought a copy for my dad and he was amazed as well. I even have bought a few copies for friends and they have all expressed how great it was. So, with all that said, there are lots of resources out there, and if you spend some time finding them, you will probably figure out what the problem is.
